In his role as CTO Digital Service at TÜV SÜD, Dr. Saerbeck leads strategic research and development initiatives of novel digital testing and certification solutions in the domains of AI, Robotics, and IoT technology. He has over 20 years’ experience of applying AI in Aerospace, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Retail.

As an editor in and expert contributor to various national and international standardization committees, including ISO/IEC SC42, IEEE SA and CEN/CENELEC JTC 21, he shapes AI standardization. Dr. Saerbeck has a passion for applied research, promoting translation of academic results to make today’s connected smart systems safe, secure, and reliable.

Abstract: Adopting AI systems presents multifaceted risks that may result in legal liabilities, threats to business, performance, and reputation. Fortunately, bringing AI into operation doesn’t mean that its risks have to be let through the door as well. This session provides an overview of the process to identify and establish relevant requirements and how to assure that these are met for safe AI operation.
